How can I recover or find my original family tree?

Hello,

My family tree on both my parents’ sides was well developed going back at least 7 generations, with all the necessary information. I obtained a lot of information from professional genealogists, extending as far back as England. I also added many photos, including pictures of my father and mother, etc.

Today, my original tree cannot be found. It is true that there are profiles for my father, my mother, and the rest of the family, but it is not my original tree (for example, there are no photos and no documents in the Sources section).

How can I recover or find my original family tree?

Thank you very much for your valuable help.

Christine Hunter

Can you share the PID of one of the profiles? It's usually easier to help when we can see the specifics.

If you added photos and documents to the Memories section, they won't necessarily be listed in Sources. They should still be in Memories, unless they were detached. And, in that case, the information should still be in the Change Log.

How long has it been since you last worked on the family?

The change log for each profile is accessible from the Details tab. On the right hand side, in the box titled "Latest Changes" click "show all".

If you were the one who uploaded the images, they should still be in your Gallery:

@christinehunter1 Are you missing documents and photos from the Memories or Sources sections? Just wondering if it makes a difference.

@christinehunter1 I’m wondering if you are looking at a duplicate record for a person (or people) in your family. FamilySearch would treat that record as a completely different person and thus no pictures or documents would appear. Have you looked to be sure there aren’t any duplicates that need to be merged? The PID would help us help you!!
