When doing name or indexing reviews, are titles part of a name?
When doing name or indexing reviews, do the titles Dr., Mrs., Mr., Dona, Sr… count as part of the name? Logically I would assume Mr and Mrs and the like do not, but Dr seems like a gray area. Personally I feel like these should be marked Not A Person in a quick review, but I'm not in charge so I thought I'd check.
Also when index reviewing and it asks if that is everyone, do we include drs and all the witnesses (I've seen up to three, at least in Brazilian records), none of which are related to the Primary Person? It does make it a little tricky when the declarant is on four of the records on that page, but there are work-arounds.

Name Prefixes aren't part of the review processes under Getting Involved Opportunities. Think about it like this: the Name in the document/image is Dr. John Smith — if I was looking in a book of names, I'd look for John as the Given Name, not for Dr. as the Given Name or even part of the name, unless I was looking in a phone book specifically for a physician. The word Dr. or Doctor is a title, not a name part - Junior following the Surname is a name part because I'm looking for the son, not the father. Mrs. means someone's wife - the lady's actual name might be Susan Smith who is married to John Smith.
Hope this helps

This was my logic as well, I just wanted to double check I was doing it correctly. Thank you so much for your response. I will move forward confidently.

Thank you. The Full Name Review seems to also imply that they should be included as part of the name.

I will correct my ways. (Although none of the articles talk about Dr.)
