@Gary91341 — Depending on your use of FamilySearch, your family (data) are most likely already in the FamilyTree on FamilySearch. Start by using the 'Find' function. See if your first or second generation (deceased) relatives are in the system. Once found, build and flesh out the details to the best of your ability from sources found on both Ancestry & FamilySearch.

Try adding more detail to this Find form to refine the person the system looks for. You'll get many suggested people, Right Click and open them in new tabs so you can compare them to your known information to better choose which is likely the family you are looking for.

Uploading new 'trees' will most likely create many duplicates that will need to be merged.

@Gary91341It’s a simple two‑step process. This Knowledge Article, Upload a GEDCOM to the Pedigree Resource File • FamilySearch, walks you through how to bring your tree over from another program. You can also check Ancestry’s support center for instructions on creating and downloading a GEDCOM file from their site.
