Changing from deceased to living
I know that in these cases a group has to review these requests prior to this change being implemented, and that this could days or weeks to happen, depending on number of these requests they have to review. Wouldn't it make more sense to allow the change initially, and then still have it reviewed and decided upon as final decision due to the simple fact that if the person is really still living then for however long it takes to approve the change their personal information is out there being shared with everyone? Isn't this the reason living people are marked living; to keep their personal data private?

Why do you say it could take days or weeks? I've seen the review happen within as few as 4 hours, and never more than a couple of days. I suppose if you got a holiday at the wrong time, it could take longer, but it would never even approach a week.
It seems like your proposal is based to a larger extent on an incorrect assumption about how long the process takes. In any case, I wouldn't like anyone to be able to unilaterally remove a person from view, even if it's only pending review.

My experience is that the review process is very short and acceptable.

I have submitted several and they only took about a day. All I told the admins is that I found no proof that the persons were deceased and it has been less than 110 years since their birth.

Allen E. Brown, I searched for others with same question. I didn't read through all of them but read 2-3, and in one of them this was the response they were given is only reason I said 48 hours to weeks. No other reason.

I've submitted at least a dozen deceased-to-living requests. All were completed in under 48 hours, most within 24 hours.

@cjspry This sounds like one of the great suggestions that could be fleshed out, written, and submitted to see if changes could be made. I suggest you go to Suggest an Idea and see what you can do to help the community.
