How do you enter Twin children?

Is there a standard way to designate children that were born as twins, triplets, etc? I can find no specific way to make that designation other than looking to see that they have the same birthdate.

Under Other Information you can create a custom fact:

In that custom fact, I would put:

    Twin of ________

@.Eugene Breindel. Gordon Collett is absolutely correct. The designation for twin should be added to a person’s page under Custom Facts.

This information will not appear unless a user clicks on the “other information” tab, located just above the person’s vital information, but it is the proper place to add many facts, including occupations, residence locations, and physical descriptions. The fact that someone is a twin could also be added to the brief life history, which is also located on the person page. Hope this helps!

@Eugene Breindel And as @Nyx773 suggested about adding the name, I'd throw in the PID… e.g. "Twin of Susan Jones [xxxx-xxx]. Just in case the profile ever gets accidentally 'detached' from the family group

Yes, the name field really should contain just the person's name and only one version of it. The old convention of squishing all their names into one field and including an occupation is not longer needed since an unlimited number of names can be added under other information.

There should not be any "President Elisabeth 'Liza' aka Betty Smith Jones née Johnson" in Family Tree. There should just be Elisabeth Johnson under the Vitals section and every other nickname, married name, and additional information should be recorded in Other Information.

Thanks for the Answers! In this instance the original contributor entered the name as Charle ( Twin ) & Henrietta ( Twin ). I have been told this causes problems with the algorithm in finding other historical records.
