Missing Death Record: Rosalind Eliza Weaver
Apologies for long thread, but information I have as follows:
Rosalind or Rosaline was my grand aunt.
Parents: William Henry De Horne [1850-1922] and Sarah Chester [1849-1876].
Birth Certificate purchased:
Baptism Info: London England Church of England Birth and Baptisms 1813-1924:
No idea why change of name. Could this be a mistake of some kind?
1871 Census has her listed as Rosa De Horne, age 1yr living with William Henry and Sarah.
1881 Census, no trace of Rosalind, however her brother is living with their Aunt and Grandmother.
1891 & 1901 Census, no trace that I could find.
1901 marriage to Alfred Edwin Weaver [Actor] on 24 Dec [London, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1938].
1911 Census: Holly Lodge, Shoreham by Sea, Sussex, Rosalind, Joan, Margery and Hardy Wyn
[Lists Hardy Wyn as Son but not so sure he is Rosalind’s – see below].
1939 Electoral Register [dated Oct 1938]: 3 Lancaster Gardens, Alfred, Rosalind, Joan and Margery their daughters.
1939 Register: 52 Princes Road, Torquay, Devon, Rosalind, Joan and Margery, guessing due to evacuation.
Other info I have is a birth certificate purchased for Hardy Wyn Weaver: born 16 Feb 1907 in Walmer, Kent: Father Alfred Edwin Weaver [Actor] but mother’s name Mabel Weaver, formerly Phillips. Not Rosalind, and I can’t find a marriage certificate for Alfred and Mabel.
Have searched BMD and GRO, also Electoral Listings after 1939 but could well have missed something, any help would be appreciated on finding date of death.

@Baz54 re Mildred Eliza changing to Rosalind Eliza. In the absence of a TARDIS to allow us to question the parties concerned, we'll never know what happened but I have seen a very occasional name change between registration and baptism. Perhaps the simplest explanation is that the parents changed their mind, but mistakes are possible - just less likely than a simple change of mind, I suspect.

Thank you for taking time to reply, thought as much, not keen on the name Mildred either 😂

When the family is Roman Catholic, we often see a difference between the baptismal name(s) and those used in the civil registration. Many priests were (maybe still are) quite dogmatic and insisted that only names of Saints could be used for the baptismal name.

Thank you for your reply, this was just an aside question as they are clearly the same person. The mystery remains around Rosalind's death date and the fact that Hardy Wyn's mother appears to have a Mabel Weaver, formerly Phillips, although no marriage has been found for Alfred and Mabel, only Alfred and Rosalind.
