Confidential Profiles
Another recent Community discussion revolved around how a living person may or may not be transitioned to deceased. I have over the years been creating alot of living profiles thru Source Linker all the while being blissfully unaware of what I was doing and the resulting impact. Ufortunately on more than one occasion failing to properly mark someone as living/deceased. The recent discussion had me wondering so I looked, for the first time, at my 'Person List'
Here is the first one in the list [clearly deceased]….
I thought that maybe there is a 'duplicate' somewhere in the FamilySearch Group tree, but didn't find one. In looking at his children none of them show 'Confidential', but his spouse, Louise Gaston does…
Here is a link to the son Albert If I go to his profile, I can see his 'Confidential' parents, but I'm not sure what anyone else will see. I read this Help Article but I remain confused
My Person List is quite a 'mess' and I'm not sure if I have enough days left on my calendar to get it all fixed. Who knew??
So… for Samuel and wife, do I need to create new profiles for them as the parents of the three children? Sounds like there is no easy fix to move them 'over'

@Mark McKenzie_1 - re Samuel Benezra - I have no ability to be certain on this, but I suspect that the answer is that he was born in Turkey and therefore falls under the confidentiality rules designed to protect … err, well, that's a bit unclear, but basically people who lived in Islamic countries can get automatically made confidential.
There have been numerous discussions in the past about this and, if I recall correctly, the only possibility is to create new profiles for both parents with no mention of those triggering countries. (You can try removing the countries from their existing profiles but I have a suspicion that won't work - it will, after all, still be in their change records).

@Mark McKenzie_1 - re your large list - you might use this list now like one might use the 'Following' list. Go back to each one and use it as a start to your day's FamilySearch activities. Obviously, the 110 year rule will make it a pretty quick task for many on your list even without new sources. Simply mark them deceased and they will fall off your private list.
When you pull up these folks that you may not have looked at for some time, you'll find the system has likely found new sources for your person that you can now Source Link to them and build out their vitals even more completely.
Like Adrian above stated, there are more reasons than just being Living to be relegated to the private list, so don't fret too much.
Source Link everything you can. Try and link all indexed names in each record. Fill out the most complete names & vitals that you can. If it is linked, someone else will see it later and your work will come through. You are obviously doing good and voluminous work - great job!!
