How do I rid my PC of Gremlins (and FSO "features")?
I've been informed in the past by several FSO Help missionaries that this forum is the absolute first line of defense against the many Family Search programming / web design / quality assurance goof-ups (my words, not theirs; Family Search technical staff refer to them as "new features") and promised the last fine gentleman who just worked with me that I would set aside my prejudices and give this a try. (I've tried the so-called "Feedback" method in the past to no avail; does anyone actually monitor and respond to those, or am I just being punked?) So here goes.
DESCRIPTION
I couldn't count the number of times I've edited the Title of a source (under the "Sources" tab of the person's page), including several times just last night. Simple thing: go to the Sources tab, find the source to be edited, open it, and edit the source Title. That's worked all the way up to as recently as 12 hours ago, but does not work today! So, yet again I've got to take time away from doing actual family history research for my family in order to act as a Family Search Help Desk / Quality Assurance person and report the latest issue in a vastly growing number of Family Search programming "features" (read goof-ups). Even after allowing the wonderful FSO missionary access to viewing my screen and working together on it we couldn't fix this particular pernicious "feature." It almost certainly has to be a programming issue, or else my PC has been commandeered by Gremlins (and yes, I cleared the cache [a bogus "fix" technique if ever there was one], and also refreshed the screen ad nauseam before contacting support in the first place).
Let me pause here to insert:
Dear Family Search Technical Services Department Head (or to whomever it may really concern):
Yes! There are still a few of us old fogies out here who use computers and not cell phones to interact with your website. Please hire more of those kinds of programmers. (I'll reserve further comment on the quality of your cell phone technicians.)
Love,
Me
SPECIFICS
Back whenever, a Family Search indexer misspelled the surname of my relative upon indexing a baptism record. Noticing that this morning, I went to the relatives page, to the "Sources" tab, clicked on the source, clicked on "EDIT," corrected the spelling of the surname (from "Frornnus" to "Fromm"), clicked on "SAVE" (which closed the source) ... upon which the surname immediately reverted back to "Frornnus". In fact, I saw it revert back in real time, right before my very old peepers. It was at this point after we both had witnessed this new "feature" (sorta like an electronic indelible ink "feature" the website now offers), that we both threw in our collective towels, and the missionary practically begged me to reach out to this forum for help.
So ... here I am ... H E L P!!!!!!! How do I rid my PC of Gremlins (and FSO "features")?

Thank you for your entertaining post!
I couldn’t reproduce the error when changing a source title—it worked fine for me. Please try again and if you still have issues, let us know.
For the non-saving edit, we need the film and image number to investigate further. Here in Community, there are many experienced users willing to assist, and moderators can reach out to engineers, but we need details of where the error occurred.
