In "Family Tree, I see 3 blocks: At the top is me, then underneath me is my mother (shouldn't that be above me) and then underneath my mother is me again (duplicated). It doesn't seem to want to allow me to delete or rearrange things). How do I fix this?

See the article Connecting and Correcting Relationships in Family Tree

In this particular case, it appears that you are a child of your mother, which is correct. That explains the part where "underneath my mother is me." But you also say "underneath me is my mother" which indicates that your mother is listed as your child (obviously incorrect).

    To fix that:

    1. Go to your profile (click on yourself in the Tree view, then click the Person button)
    2. Down in the Family Members box, in the Spouses and Children section, you should see where you are shown and then below that, in a subsection labeled "Children" you should see your mother.
    3. To the right of your mother should be a pencil icon. Click that.
    4. At the very bottom of the Parent-Child Relationship box that just popped up, you'll find a DELETE RELATIONSHIP button. Click that.
    5. Confirm that you're seeing the wrong relationship with your mother listed as your child. Check the appropriate confirmation box and then click the DELETE button
    6. Provide a reason and then finally confirm the deletion.

When you return to the Tree view, it should look much better now.

If this seems difficult, you can contact Support or find a local FamilySearch Center where someone can help you.
