Teruel, Spain missing records for Ancestors
Hello I live in America and my Father's side came from Spain. I am not able to read nor speak spainish. I have names and some dates of who they were. According to his family they came here during the Spainish Civil War. 1936-1939, They lived in Teruel, Teruel, Spain. According to information the churches were mostly destroyed and all records were lost. There are supposed to be some saved records saved from the Church of San Juan along with some of the over 20,000 churchs destroyed.
I am now trying to find if there are any Civil records left. I did write to the registor that area and he could not find anything. But I believe our language barrier may have had a part in that.
My grandmother who lived with us while i was growing up i have her name and birth information along with her parents. I never knew my grandfather which I never really heard much about.
My grandmother was
Juana Anica de Aragón [father: E. de Aragon mother : Inez de Silva ]
born: 05 Aug 1890 Teruel,Teruel,Spain
My grandfather was
Mario Ramon J Cortes [father: Carlos Martin Cortes Mother: Micaela de los Moriles]
born; abt 1890 Zaragoza, Spain this has never been verified.

I have used the Wiki for looking up data. That is where I got the address of the Civil Registor I sent an email and he was not ablr to find anything with the data I sent. I also went to the Registor web site but I can not find anyplace to request the information.
