Anyone else seeing this extended list of Alternate Names, when there; but, only for a few seconds?
Is anyone else seeing this extended list of Alternate Names appear, when there adding or changing an Alternate Name; but, only for seconds, before it disappears and the normal list appears?
Examples (Screen-Prints)
Adding where there are NO Other Contributors
Adding where there ARE Other Contributors
Very intermittent.
Can be for any person.
There is no consistency.
Although not as often, even think, that the same has occurred in the Name field; but, was never fast enough to take a Screen-Print.
Just wonder, if the list of Alternate Names, is going to be eventually extended.

That extended list of alternate name types is supposed to be accessible only when the Chinese name language template is selected. There must be some little programming glitch that allows it to show briefly while the page is being drawn.
As for the future, I'm confident that this list of types is not going to be extended beyond the Chinese name language template, unless perhaps some similar language template gets added.

Checked, the Alternate Names, using the Chinese Language Template.
Yes, those Screen-Prints, in the initial post, is the same list as per the Chinese Language Template.
Perhaps this post, needs to be passed on to, the Programmers, to take a look at, definitely a Minor intermittent BUG.
Certainly do hope the list of Alternate Names, for the rest of us, is extended, to even more, than is in those Screen-Prints.0 -
@Jenny.B I also am unable to duplicate this problem, even though I have tried many times. I only see the extended list when I use the Chinese name language template.
These additional name types for Chinese are documented in the help article How do I enter Chinese names into Family Tree?
Personally, I find the current list of alternate name types (8 for Chinese, 4 for all other languages) to be sufficient for any situation I have ever run into. Certainly "Also Known As" covers any case that might not be handled by the other more specific options. I prefer simplicity, so I hope the list of options is not extended.

It is not something that you can recreate.
It just happens on a intermitent basis.
Some days you see it a couple of times a day.
Other days you don't see it at all.
Not sure; but, seems to happen, when there is a slight lag, time with the System.
Even possibly over use of, the System or the associated Servers.
But, Yes, it is still happening, even yesterday, when we made this post.
Was/am often not always quick enough to take a Screen-Print.
It only lasts for about 5 or so Seconds before it disappears.
Not a significant problem, but, can be distracting/confusing at the time for a moment.
Use mostly FireFox; but, also use Chrome and Brave - happens in all three.
They are all up-to-date.

Here is is something, for the Programmers, in relation to this BUG.
After checking, the Alternate Names, using the Chinese Language Template, the instances increased somewhat.
But still related to lag, time with the System.
Even possibly over use of, the System or the associated Servers.
And, then we realised that the Computer was used to help/train a number users.
A number of the various Language Templates (including the Chinese one) were used/accessed.
There is a Chinese Branch in our Stake.
Started seeing this in the latter part of last year.
It appears, that as the Chinese Language Template, for the list of Names, which is different that all other Language Templates, that it takes precedence of the others.
Do not want to have the be Clearing, Cookies; Cache; &, Browsing History, after such instances.
And, Yes, still happening.0 -

Here is an example, of problems with the Server, for us.
This happened when checking/accessing a Deleted person who was Merged.
But, is not limited to Deleted persons who were Merged.
Happens frequently just about every day.

Don't know about other countries.
But, today, overall, the Lag Time on the System (and/or, with the Servers, in our Region), has been horrendous.
Tried different Internet providers, made no difference.
Other programs were fine.
Did not get the BUG with the Alternate Names as were not doing so much.
But, everything else, was so slow.

Yet, Brave, was OK.
Everything was working fine.
Then from about 06:40 am Our Time - as above.
Only Lasted for a short time, a few Minutes - enough to be annoying.0
