Trying to find out if my direct ancestor (7 generations) Johann Conrad Linneberg may have fought in the American Revolution. My research shows that he arrived in Philadelphia in 1752 or 1753 on the ship Two Brothers. He then settled in New Jersey in or around what is now Hunterdon County near White House NJ. He died in 1827 and is buried in what is now Mount Olive, NJ. His son was Casper Lindaberry 1753-1835, whose son was George Lindaberry 1777-1857, whose son was Jacob Harrison Lindaberry 1820-1896, whose son was Isaac Jacob Lindabury (new spelling ) 1856-1929, whose son was Theodore Isaac Lindabury 1887-1946, whose son was Theodore Weirup Lindabury (my father) 1916-2006, to me Daphne Lindabury Carey

Thank you for any information.

Thank you - I will look into it! Most of the family has stayed in the same area of New Jersey, so I hope to find their grave stones at some point (when the weather is better!)

    Hi @DaphneCarey,

Here is a great resource to find information on the Revolutionary War and those who fought in it, https://www.archives.gov/research/military/american-revolution. Good luck with your research.

You should add the information you have to family search tree as Casper is listed with no father or death date and adding information could lead to records

    Casper Lindabury Male 1753–Deceased G3C7-YN8

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/G3C7-YN8

Also found a relative that might link

Johann Conrad Leinenberger Male 1731–1777 PMMH-MD4

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/vitals/PMMH-MD4

    Who settled in new jersey

by trying findagrave with various spellings of just last name in born before 1800 buried in new jersey with more search options similar name spellings, which led to several of his grandchildren graves

Doesn't directly answer your question, but I think this is Casper's Will Just in case you don't already have it…. In the way of secondary sources here's Early German's of New Jersey that may address this family and this Lindabury Biography if anyone wants to review what appears to be the background
