By working backwards. What do you know about your grandfather? I assume he is deceased or you could just ask him. Do you have a death record for him that might give some information regarding when and where he was born? Do you have a marriage record? Those usually include birth information and if not both parents' at least the fathers of the bride and groom. Those records should give you sufficient information to start looking for his birth record. Was he born early enough to be in an available census record? Of course, one thing that might be a problem is the years you need to look at and if the records are still blocked by privacy laws.
The Nordic research group here: has a lot of people who research their Swedish families.
The group specifically for Sweden also likely could be a great help: This one has links to a Facebook group and a Youtube channel where you may get useful information.
Have you put your grandfather and every bit of information you know about him in FamilyTree? If not, you should so the Hint engine can look for records about him for you that might include his parents. If he is in Family Tree, post his ID either here or in one of the other groups so people can look at what you do know and give specific suggestions on how to find out more about him including who his parents were.
