Hello @tatiana6006
Can you give any information around the approximate year your great-grandfather would have been in Chile?
Do you have any idea what was his approximate age at that time. Using these to get some sort of idea of his approximate birth year is valuable.
Do you know what was the approximate year his daughter Victoria was born? And do you have any idea on the approximate year he left Chile?
Do you have any information on why he was in Chile? Was he perhaps a member of the British or the US Navy? Or was there some other reason he was in Chile?
Also, you gave his name as Victor Beatty Brown. That construction of name is a little unusual for an Irish person, particularly as Beatty is included in his daughter’s name. Do you know if his family name was Beatty or was it Brown?
Any other information you have around places or dates would also be valuable.0 -
Hello @tatiana6006
I believe I have a little more information for you.
Your great-grandfather was not Irish. He was from the United States. He was born in 1875 in the state of Kansas in the United States. His name in Kansas was Victor Beatty.
Victor's parents, your great-great-grandparents, were Swayne Beatty and Victoria Brown. Swayne was born in 1840 and Victoria in 1847.
Swayne and Victoria married in Montgomery in the state of Kansas in the United States on 29th January 1873.
Victor Beatty and Rebeca Escobar Muñoz married on 4th September 1909 in Portales, Santiago, Chile. Their daughter Victoria Eugenia Beatty Escobar was born on 26th June 1910 in Portales, Santiago, Chile.
Does this information agree with what you already know?

Hola @tatiana6006. Lo siento, no hablo español muy bien, pero creo que puedo ayudarte. Así que escribiré en inglés. Vale.
Building on what @John Curran has already uncovered for you; your great-grandfather was born Sinclair Beatty about 1875, Kansas.
By 1880 the family had moved to New Mexico. The family appears as Swayne rather than Beatty, for some reason. But all the other details match.
By 1902 he is a registered voter in Arizona, going by Claire Beatty. He appears again in 1904 in the Arizona Voter's register this time as Claire V Beatty, and in 1906 as C V Beatty.
During this time he was also going to and from Mexico as evidenced in newspaper articles from the time.
His father, Swayne S Beatty died in 1910 in New Mexico. There is a comprehensive newspaper obituary on his FindAGrave entry which mentions his two daughters and one son, Sinclair Beatty working as superintendent of the Braden Copper Company in Chile. This timeline fits with the marriage of Victor Beatty and Rebecca Escobar Muñoz and the birth of their daughter.
Sinclair's sisters sue him for property and shares in 1910, New Mexico, but it's unclear if he appeared.
By 1911 he is back in Arizona, as Clair/Claire Victor Beatty, where he stays until about 1918, per voters registers.
in 1920 C V Beatty applies for a passport and this document is key in bringing all the pieces together. By this time he is giving his birth as 1879, Columbus, Ohio, his father's place of birth. His father appears in the document as Swain S Beatty and he also lists three trips to Mexico but omits the time he spent in Chile. However, there is an affidavit included in the application, in lieu of his birth certificate, written by his younger half-sister, Lida Jackson Beatty, which confirms that "Claire Victor Beatty" is the same individual as "Sinclair Beatty". What might be most interesting of all for you, is that this document contains a photograph of your Great-grandfather.
The final mention I could find is his death. There is a FindAGrave entry for Claire Victor Beatty Birth Date
28 Dec 1879
Death Date
07 Feb 1933

Apologies formatting went awry and wouldn’t let me amend it.
I wanted to finally say: Claire Victor Beatty died in 1933 in P’yǒngang, North Korea and was buried in the foreigners cemetery there.
I’ve added all my findings to his profile, as well as to some of his extended family, so you can view all this for yourself at Sinclair Beatty (G42R-Z2M).1
