Dear Community, I would appreciate some help understanding a particular entry in the parish of Sem, Randers in the year 1769. It is a record concerning Peter Finnesen #LR5M-GP6. I suspect it is a burial record for his wife and twin sons, however I have not found a christening record for the twins (Could the christening be the July 15 event?) it is also unusual not to put the age of the deceased in a record. Hoping someone can help. Here is the link to that record:

I am attaching an image of the record.

For some really strange reason the image I linked to this message was restricted. Which I simply cannot understand. It is simply an old Danish parish record. I still need help from someone more expert to take a look at the page and help with the record concerning Peder Finnesen #LR5M-GP6 and his wife, Kiersten Pedersdatter. Also, if someone could explain why that image was rejected, I would really appreciate knowing the reason. I teach classes at our Family Search center and have explained how helpful the Community can be once you figure out how to use it… but this experience has been more frustrating than helpful. Any advise???

I can help some with this. I have consulted with a Nordic staff member at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City and we have come up with part of the answer to your question. This image quality is quite poor but this is the best we can do:

Transcription - Fredagen den 28 July; blev Peder Finnessons kone nafn. Kiersten Pedersdaatter af Edrup og hans tvende sønner Peder og Niels Pedersoner Begravnet; som Tiirsdagen d. 25 July tilfore var formedelst Torden og Lyn ___ ihielslage_ of omkommes. bet[ient] af Hr. Schaarup

Translation - Friday the 28th of July were buried Peder Finnesson's wife by the name of Kiersten Pedersdatter of Edrup and his (referring to Peder Finnesson) two sons Peder and Niels Pederson; who on Tuesday the 25th of July before, because of thunder and lightning were struck and killed. Officiated (at the services) Herr. Schaarup

It is unusual that there are no ages given in a death record, but they are not recorded! Also, it doesn't say the two boys are twins-it simply says "two boys".
