How Linking My Full Family Tree to the Main FamilySearch Tree ?

My name is Simon (name removed). I’ve recently completed building my family tree on FamilySearch. I now have full ancestry lines for all four of my grandparents — both paternal and maternal — going back to the 1600s. This includes entering several generations manually, such as adding my grandfather under his own father, then adding my father, myself, and my children.
However, I’ve noticed that the tree doesn’t seem to be fully integrated into the main FamilySearch system. Even though I can see all the ancestors, it appears that many of them are not properly “connected” — as if they exist in isolation, rather than as part of the larger, shared tree. As a result, I’m unable to view the entire extended tree at once, and I’m unable to export it in full (e.g., as a .GED file) using tools like Ancestral Quest.
What I want is to ensure that all four branches of my family — from both paternal and maternal grandparents — are officially connected into the global FamilySearch tree, so that I can:
- Navigate seamlessly through all generations in one unified view
- Download the complete tree (up to 10 generations) in GEDCOM format
Could you please advise on how to correctly link my living relatives to the existing historical profiles, so the tree becomes fully recognized and exportable?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Simon (name removed)

I’m not sure if this helps, but here are the FamilySearch Person IDs (tags) for key individuals in my family tree:
- P384-NNT – myself
- P38H-842 – my father
- P384-HRF – my mother
And here are the Person IDs for the last known ancestors in each of the four branches of my family:
- GB1X-RC6 – last known Clément ancestor on my maternal grandfather’s line
- GD6F-F53 – last known Geanson/Lapalme ancestor on my maternal grandmother’s line
- G8SV-9FN – last known Lefrancois ancestor on my paternal grandfather’s line
- GVH6-VMR – last known Roy/Portelance ancestor on my paternal grandmother’s line
I hope this information helps clarify the structure of my tree and why some parts might not be fully linked or exporting properly.

We will be unable to view any profiles for living persons as the privacy of the living is paramount in the FamilySearch tree. Only you can view the profile of any living person you have added to the tree.
For exporting a GEDCOM from FamilySearch, you will need to use one of the options listed in the Solutions Gallery.

@Simonack Hi Simon. You need to link your grandparents (I assume they are all deceased) to your parents. To do this, go to your father's person page, details tab, family members section and add his parents. You can either add by name or if you know the ID you can add by ID. Following that, go to your mother's person page and add her parents. Once you link to these deceased ancestors, all the generations back from there will be available. Here is a link to the more detailed instructions

Thanks, I will do this.
