All right. I have hunted. Findings: Clairmo/Clairmore is most likely Clermont or Duborg (Clermont being the "dit" name that part of the family took). Mack is probably Maxime. But that's a guess. There are some Maxime Duborg Clermonts born in that time period. None on the date listed in ancestry (25 dec 1823). There is a Maxime Duborg Clermont born 22 sep 1824 in Ste Genevieve, Berthier, Quebec, but there is not a way to verify this is the correct one. I do not see what happened to him however. There are others that I can see stayed in the area. So nothing definitive on that one.

Chauldolt (and any variations I can come up) is not a name in Quebec records. So her name was likely Julie something but not Chauldolt, Chaudolt, etc. So still stumped there.

I looked at all the marriages of a Julie or Julia in Quebec in 1851 (I saw the obituary where it listed that as when they married in Montreal). Based on my search, I do not believe they married in Montreal (or anywhere in Quebec) in 1851. I tend to think they were not married in Quebec (I searched other years but looked at every marriage of a Julie or Julia in 1851).

They may well have been married in Wisconsin or someplace like that.

I am not sure they were from Montreal. Berthier is not that far from Montreal, and Montreal is a place in the Midwest that people would have heard of, so I would not limit it to Montreal.

I think Clermont is the surname; spelling was not a big deal in Quebec back then; it was pretty much phonetic. I can't figure out Julia's surname. But there are no records of Chauldolt or Chaudolt or Chauld-anything. It's a variation of some sort.

They were not married in Quebec in 1851, at least not as Julie or Julia (to anybody with a similar name to Maxime). I could not find any Julie or Julia marrying in 1851 with a last name at all similar to Cha-anything.

So not a lot of help at this point. I have seen ancestry.com family trees and lots of records of their children, but am having a hard time finding someone in Canada I know is them.

    Hi again

Linda Linda Linda. I was hoping you would see this post. If anyone could find theses records it would deffentily be you. As alwas, i thank you so very much for your time and assistance.

You helped me a couple months ago with finding my great grandfather and his family. His name is Noe/Noah Godmer/Godmare, All verifiable. Spot on. Outstanding linda.

There was another name along side of mack and it was Missone Clairmore. Still clairmore. There is 3 other julie/juliea's here at FS. They are Julia judawitz/Judawine and julia Chandoit. I have seen themm all here and i would say julia Chandoit is very close. Chauldolt/Chandoit. She has the close to full tree and i think this is one of the person's i am searching for. And yes Mack also has used the name Max, Maxime and i havent verified it yet but there is a younger maxim also. Now that is neat.

In the 1860 Wisconsin census the name mack clairmo is used there. Same name. Interesting.

Im sure you know now who i am researching here. Noe and mary. Great grandparents. I still have not found there marrirge record. I have spoken with a person in wisconsin and they do not have a county record where there at. All marriages were not all county. Local church or maybe justice of the peace.

There is church records here but they have the lock on them and i must go to one of there locations here in my state to view them.

Im am still tracking him from canada to the US. This guy got around. Any ways . I realy do thankyou so very very much for your time and help here in finding my g grand parents documentation. To me its more than just papers and documents. You are truly awsum. A numeral Uno. The best.

    Keep up the great work.
