There's a death certificate for Anna Flemming, died 27 Nov 1936, buried Calvary 2 Dec 1936, but the parents listed do not match your request. Informant's name William Flemming.

Hi @IMA777.
Have you tried contacting Calvary Cemetery? Their information is under the 'About' section here: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/64107/calvary-cemetery
They should have records of every person with the name Anna/Annie Flem(m)ing that was buried in Calvary Cemetery in 1936. That should get you some clues. For instance, was there more than one?
This may then establish whether that death certificate is correct, even if details on it are in question.

Hi again, @IMA777.
Any luck with your search? It occurred to me that there might be a clue on the burial receipt. Do you have a photo or scan of it you could share? Maybe there's a detail we are missing.
The NYC Department of Records and Information Services has some information on birth certificates:
"Legislation dating as far back as 1847 required persons attending at a birth to report the event to the Department of Health. However, many births were not reported, especially in the 19th and early 20th century when most births took place at home. There may have been a reluctance or inability to report the birth if the family or the attendant was not literate in English. Some families, especially in the Irish Catholic community, obtained a baptismal record from the church, but did not report the birth to the civil office."
As for the death certificate, they say: "To the best of our knowledge, cemeteries required evidence of the Department of Health death certificate prior to burial." So, that, at least, should exist.
Also, I spent some time searching newspapers, but haven't had luck finding an obituary or any relevant articles. My assumption is that many from that time period and area of NY have yet to be digitized.
