Family Review - Guatemala

Well, the dreaded "Some error has occurred" error message has re-surfaced — but not in the same situations as before. This time it occurs when trying to save a record after unlinking linked dates and places. Three times, I have been working on Guatemala birth records. Each time, I have been able to complete a couple of records. But when I come up against a couple of records with linked dates and places, the program dies with the "Unexpected error". Waiting never solves the problem.
Actually, I don't understand why the program likes these linked records so much. Very seldom are linked names needed. Often, linked places are valid. And hardly ever are linked dates useful. Sometimes the date the record was made is the same, and the all-wise AI likes to put that date in as the birthdate. But usually, that record date is modified by an "ayer" or "anteayer" or another date written in. So the actual birthdate is almost never the same between those two records. It may seem like you're saving referent space, but really, you're not.

Another one that I can't fix because AI combined two consecutive records. Some previous reviewer was trying to correct things but they just preserved the meld. AI missed the principal name for the first record but incorporated the mother and father from that record and had their surnames linked to the principal from the second record. It also had the birthplace and date as linked values.I managed to put the names of the principal and parents from the first record in, unlinking the names in the process. However it would not let me unlink the birth places and dates. Not surprisingly, the birthplaces are the same so being linked is not fatal. However, the birth dates are NOT the same and therefore must be unlinked. I think that record date was the same for both records but one was list as "ayer" and the other I think was 'hoy'. However, I can't confirm that because something went wrong and FS disconnected me from the image.
However, here are some names you can search for to find the offending records. They are in the Family Review Guatemala project. The records are on the left side of the image. The first record was for "Margarita"(?) with a mother of "Juana Tulux" and a father of "Cecilio Tzuin". These are my corrected names. AI called them as "Juana Tuluc" and "Cecilio Izuin".
The second record had the principal's first name as "Consuelo" but I didn't get far enough into that record to see the parents' names before I lost the image. This points out another hazard of AI — an Unknown principal. The principal that got me started on this was "Unknown", a clue that things are going to be screwed up. I don't know where it was looking to come up with "Unknown" but the mother was the aforementioned Juana Tuluc. From there, things went downhill.
Good luck,

Sorry to trouble you again, but here's another one I can't fix. It finishes on page 469, likely of Totonicapan Guatemala births (upper left corner), probably Partida 1877, but that information is on the previous page, which is not accessible. The principal is Maria Diego Gutierrez. I was able to get all of the names confirmed but the program repeatedly dies every time I tried to unlink the birthplace and date. The birthplace would likely be correct but the birthdate is probably not. However, I can't tell because the record date is on the previous page with "ayer" indicated on this page. The linked record found below this one has a birthdate explicitly given as 11 November, which is probably not correct — but I can't unlink it.
So two problems: 1) Can't get to the previous page to see the correct date. 2) Can't unlink the incorrect date.
This brings up a very common problem with the program. When a record starts and ends on a different image, you have not given us the ability to see the other image or directly edit the data in Family Review. In some cases, we can see the data on the other page by using the Image Details link at the top to go look at the whole image set, and then use that to enter the correct data in the Family Review app. However, in several cases I have come across (like this one) that link is not there so you can't see the other page's data.

@Ashlee C. I am preparing a webinar that will provide a workaround for this problem.
