Why is the memories pages being considered to be dropped?

I strongly feel this would not be a good idea, so many people use these pages to find people and information. There is more then just photos up loaded to memories, valuable write ups, old news paper clippings, family stories, images of old maps and drawings. The list is endless and for a person like myself it is worth its weight in gold. Over the many years that I have been working on FamilySearch I have found unknow info that was not available anywhere else but in the memories page. Removing it would be a big mistake in my opinion as a family researcher I believe this would be a step backwards regarding available information on your site and service that you provide to so many people world wide.

Let me clarify this issue. The Memories page of FamilySearch is not being dropped.
However, as many users have noticed, the People and Find pages (found under the top header Memories Tab) is now unavailable.
Those two pages were running on very old code—many users were already experiencing problems populating those pages. As such, the Memory Team is currently upgrading to improved technology.
As part of this update, the Memory Team is also seeking feedback—if you've enjoyed using is this feature, we'd love to hear from you.
