Hi, Once upon a time I could access Zimbabwe records but for the past couple of years they have been unavailable (except for death records). Is this situation likely to continue? If so how long for?

@marise lloyd evans Can you be more specific about the type and date range of the records that are now not available? Were they civil registration? Were they for a particular locality?

Good morning. The records that appear to have disappeared were found at Zimbabwe, Voter Registration, 1938-1973; https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSL5-CY5D?cc=3740407 I cannot find any birth records either for Zimbabwe.

@marise lloyd evans In the catalog this collection is now showing with only microfilm icons, meaning the films are only available at the Salt Lake Library. Privacy regulations vary across the world and often change. FamilySearch adheres to existing legal requirements, which is likely a factor in this situation.
