Not knowing what you have already searched, here are a few suggestions. Check census for Wayne County, Mississippi. If you have siblings of his try searching them. Race will eliminate many false documents with Roland. It appears he died before 1940. Have you looked for history on his mother? I just love chasing down hints and finding what I can.
