Family Review - Bolivia

I've just spent several hours trying to correct baptismal records for Bolivia in Family Review. Out of about 20 records attempted, I was able to finish and submit only five.

The problem that prevents finishing them occurs when the Principal is either "<Unknown>" or AI decided that the priest doing the baptism or the recorder/scribe at the bottom is the Principal. Even though you tell it that the record is not about that person, it refuses to forget that. Even if you enter another name as the Principal, it keeps the original name (an Error) as a Principal that you can't even Edit and Remove. Since you can't go past that point, you have to dump the program.

I suspect this problem is not unique to Bolivia. It has probably arisen there so frequently because AI has done such a terrible job selecting the Principal person for each record.

(@A Nelson Any advice/workaround? I'm afraid to say anything to Ashlee.)

@Jerry Hill . Yes, there is a workaround and you're right it's not just Bolivia. AI indexing was done in stages. In the early stages, that type of error appears more frequently. The process improved significantly over time so this error rarely appears in later batches.

Here's the workaround. Go ahead and accept the unknown Principal even though you can't see a highlighted name. Then look at the other people indexed for that record and try to find the record in the page that includes these other people. Once you have found the right record, you need to select the Principal's name from the drop-down list. If not found in the list, you will need to add the Principal's name before you continue your review. I hope this helps.

These work arounds are so much slower than just starting from scratch and letting humans redo the indexing. If the AI is better now, at least have the AI redo the early ones again.
