@Arrena I see that your Humphries family is marked as 'Black' in the 1850 census you have attached. You may find more specific help in either the Southern States Research group or the African American Research group.
You may find it interesting that in 1780, Virginia was much larger than the area that it currently covers. This webpage about Virginia cessations, shows that in the 1780s, Virginia extended much farther West and all the way up to the Great Lakes. This may make a difference in where Bill Humphries was actually born. Especially considering that in 1850 (prior to the Civil War) he is apparently a free person living in Georgia.
Any chance this is your Billy Humphries in Fauquier county, Virginia in 1840? It lists only one 'free colored person' a male, between 24 & 55 in this particular household.

Not finding anything in FamilySearch have you tried FamilySearch Wiki Virginia Births.
To find birth records in Virginia for 1770, you'll need to rely on pre-1853 record-keeping practices. Before 1853, Virginia did not have a statewide system for recording births, marriages, or deaths. Birth records were often kept locally, if at all, and may be found in church records, family Bibles, or other private documents. If you know the local area William was born then start by researching local churches, they were the main record keepers in this period of time. You may need to research land holdings, court records and other legal documents such as wills etc., to start the trail on finding your relatives.
