Family History Center portals

I visited my local FHC and asked for assistance in accessing the FHC portal to view images posted by another member. The local center staff were very helpful and tried to find the portal but were unable to help me. Here is my dilemma. I found another FH member who posted information on an individual we both share (my grandfather). The information was accurate. I chatted with him on FH messaging, on what are the sources for that information. He replied that he sent a short email to the "portal" with images of birth certificates. He mentioned that "viewing images on the portal is up to 15 minutes". My understanding of the portal is that it provides access to other premium services; not emails with images. However in viewing FH help section, I remember reference to a "15 minute viewing window". Please help. I have been searching for 7 years for documents on my grandfather, who is the subject of this message. The other FH member appears to have accurate informaton on him and sources to corroborate the information.

You can access the portal using one of the computers at the FamilySearch Center or you can install extension to access the portal on your personal laptop. You will need to be logged in to access the Portal, once installed, and then you will see the options to access many premium genealogy websites. There is no 15-minute restriction.
You don't say where the information you want to see was posted. Was it on one of the for-pay genealogy websites such as Ancestry or MyHeritage?

I will have to contact the man who I have chatted with, to find out what website he used to post images of his sources. He lives in Europe and does not speak in English. Thank goodness for Google translate!! When I contact him, are there any other items I should be asking besides the website he used to post his sources? Assuming for a moment that he used My Heritage, will I be able to use the FH portal at a FHC to access this website to view his message?? I do not subscribe to that website.

If the other contributor sent you a message on MyHeritage, you should be able to see that with only a free MH account. You will be able to his MH tree using the portal at your FSC.
