Things That Have Worked Well and Things That Don't
I came to a FamilySearch Center today, so I did not have my software (Legacy 9.0) which I use at home to make GEDCOM files. I found a software online which I could run as a test. It was Ahnenblatt, a German software available in many languages. I created a basic tree. I went to upload it as a CET tree, but it said I had to get permission from all of the living people to add their data. Because of this, I did not upload that tree. I did not have that permission. I went back to the software and made a tree with one deceased ancestor and very little data (just a name, birth date and place, and death date and place).
I saved it as an Ahnenblatt file, then as a GEDCOM .ged file. I uploaded it and it worked! Yay! I was asked whether I wanted it to be private or public. I put that I want it to be private, as I want to use it as a research tree which nobody can be upset about. I am hoping later that I could someday make it public, should I choose to, or at least invite a few family members to look at it (and not change it).
I copied the invite link and put it in a browser. I got my husband to sign up for this CET experiment. I sent him a link by E-mail. When he clicked it, it didn't work, but he hasn't been accepted into the experiment yet. It may work for him in the future when he gets invited to test CET.
I then added relatives for this person. Sometimes, the software said it had found the person in the shared family tree. I tried to add that one. It said that feature is not available yet. I just created a bunch of people with just names. I added spouses and children until I got down to myself, my spouse, and my children. I then added parents for my husband, and my husband's sister. I have only names, no dates, so far.
I have not tried adding sources yet, but I'm going to in the future.
I am very excited about the prospect of being able to use FamilySearch to do research that nobody can see and get upset about! Yay!

@MrsLCJ you are correct. In this early access testing, only persons invited to the experiment will be allowed to create a CET. I am happy to hear that you are excited about CET and that it will fulfill your research needs. Thank you, again, for your comments.

Dear mynameistk,
I don't know if I need to open a new feed each time or if I can just put my experiences in this same thread. I'd prefer the latter.
I do 90% of my research using my iPhone. My kids are almost always using the computer. I sit behind them and use my phone to to genealogical research.
I know that you programmers have already said that you are putting your focus on the computer first and the app second. I understand.
When you're interested in working on the app, I want you to make it so:
- I can do a search using familysearch from the person page in CET, just like I normally can in the regular tree. Currently, it goes to a page where it says something like, "that page cannot be found"
- I want to be able to add people into my tree just like I can in the regular tree. I have tried to add a parent and a spouse using the app. Neither works. It gives me an error message with something like "The FamilySearch app cannot do that."
- It would be nice if I could pick and choose which things from the shared familytree, about a certain ancestor, I want to add to my tree, such as sources and memories.
- I currently haven't much of a desire to use the CET tree to put in my family photos and my own data. I can use the other trees for the same. I'd like to use this CET tree for researching before making the research public. It would be nice if I could make a CET for each research problem I am researching, before I decide to make it public. I would like it if, when I get to the point at which I want to make it public, I can transfer it quickly and easily to the shared family tree. (I hope that it is possible for someone to do that).

@MrsLCJ first, I am not a programmer. I am a user who is helping this engineering team support, . Since this entire discussion is about the mobile app, I am going to copy it over to its own discussion. It’s much easier to track and find with only one topic per discussion. Please keep sending all of the feedback and comments that you have. They are very valuable.

I can research and do all I do on my computer on my phone by deleting the mobile ap and going to familysearch in a browser. Just make sure to choose "request desktop site" This will be found in a different place depending on which browser you are using but on Crome see the drop down menu for the 3 dots on the bottom right.

@Cherie Gardner Rawlings Thank you for your valuable feedback. @MrsLCJ Have you tried the suggestion above?

@Cherie Gardner Rawlings I have copied your comment and added it to the discussion on the mobile app found https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/176445/cet-on-the-mobile-app/p1?new=1
