I have a record of my great grandmother's birth, but it lists her father as Andrea Indarmo, instead of Naimo. All other records that I have indicates that their name is Naimo.
This is found in FamilySearch Catalog, film #1473842, image 388 of 1054. Can anyone tell me where this last name could come from? I can find no such surname anywhere.

To be honest this one has me baffled. I am not sure where it could have originated.

If you write Naimo in script, it could look like Inaimo.
I have a whole family in my tree named Davila. About 50% of their documents, the VI is made out to be an N. So, they are all Danla. Making it worse, the name is actually D'Avila. So, they are
D'Avila
Davila
D'Anla
Danla
and occasionally
D. Anla
You need to be very flexible when it comes to spellings and know your correct name, but search on any possible weirdness.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I will search on the variations.
