Estate, guardianship, probate Carroll Co, GA
John Davis was a brother of Henry Ward Davis who was a prominent person in Carroll County Georgia. John died before 1849, probably in Georgia and was probably married in North Carolina in the 1830s. In the 1850 census Henry Ward Davis' family includes an Ann Davis who I believe to be the wife of John. And she is probably the mother of the children that follow her name in the 1850 census. How can I find out when John died, the estate contents and the guardianship for the children of John and Ann. Henry Ward Davis was a clerk at the courthouse, Carrollton, Carroll Co, GA

Have you tried using the Full-Text Search? You can narrow your search to a specific location, a range of dates, and type of record. You may well find his probate file, record of land being bought/sold, and tax records in Georgia at that time.
Best of luck.
BTW - your question is in the Indexing category, where questions are posted about how to index. I've flagged it for a moderator to move it to the Search category.

Thank you for moving my post. I have started looking through the full text search but it's hard looking for a John Davis in the records in Georgia since it's such a common name.

I need to know which records contain the probate, estate and guardianship information for ca 1839-1849 Carroll Co, GA; I'm looking for more than one name and hope to find them in an index. The family was left portions of an estate in NC from the grandfather, named as "heirs of my son John". Hopefully there are Power of Attorney records showing the dispersal in Georgia, because they aren't in North Carolina.

You can use the FamilySearch catalog to narrow your search.
For example: https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/results?count=100&q.keywords=Carroll%20Georgia%20Probate&q.place=Carroll%2C%20Georgia%2C%20United%20States

Working for me, what's the error message you are getting?

I'm guessing that trudie may have copied through the word "returns" rather than just clicking through the URL.
Try this link. Just click on the word link.1 -

@trudie davis-long Are you able to access the catalog? https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog
If so, use the place name search to find records for Carroll, Georgia. If you still get an error message we need to figure out what's happening. BTW, did you try reloading the page after getting the above message?
