Walzenhausen AR - "Chronik der Gemeinde Walzenhausen" - 15th-17th century - Künzler
Translation of page 90 in "Chronik Der Gemeinde Walzenhausen"
Please help me translate page 90 in "Chronik Der Gemeinde Walzenhausen". I am most interested in the 2nd paragraph where Conrad is listing what I think are his direct-line ancestors. This looks to be different that what is listed in other places but where he is telling it I believe it to be the most accurate.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I have attached the document.

The chronicler describes his own origins in the following words:
Instead of trying to translate word by word, I'll list the descendants in tabular form (assuming that "liess hinder ihm" implies sons):
1) Hans
1.1) Hansen
1.2) Josen
1.3) Hermann
1.3.1) Hermann, died 1618
1.3.1.1) Hansen, still alive now in 1657Then we have (not explicitely mentioned son of whom)
1.3.1.1.1) Conraden, held several offices and died 1637
1.3.1.1.1.1) Conradt, held several offices 1627-1666
1.3.1.1.1.2) Jos, mentioned 1638 as church warden
1.3.1.1.1.3) Bartli, 1638 schoolmaster, other offices 1639-1667The text in the Chronik Walzenhausen is more or less a summary from "Appenzellisches Wappen- und Geschlechterbuch" by Ernst H. Koller and Jakob Signer (Bern and Aarau 1926). It is not mentioned where "The chronicler describes his own origins" originates. The step from 1.3.1.1) Hansen to 1.3.1.1.1) Conraden is not obvious from the "Chronik" - I have taken this from Koller-Signer.
BTW - on Geneal-Forum there is already a topic on Künzler von Walzenhausen AR - so far "too late" for you - but you could report what you know about these early generations, point out discrepancies between different sources - and ask people about their comments on this.
