Click on this icon on the toolbar

    FireShot Capture 024 - Indexing Tool — FamilySearch.org - www.familysearch.org.png

This box will come up. You can at 1-99 at a time. Select After the last entry, then click Add. If you need to add more than 99 entries, you will need to repeat the steps.

I have been indexing a city directory for 314 entries and there are more pages with nearly a hundred on eaach page. Then i notice some light pink letters that say "for reference only, do not index" have i been doing something unnecessary? has all these hours been for nothing ? What do I do now?

@BartholomewLinda1 Hi sounds like you might be trying to index reference images which are not part of your batch but we need your batch number found in brackets to the right of the project title and looks like this: US—City Directories, 1903–1935 [Part N] [MQRC-J94] please post it now and I'll try to help

If it says "For Reference Only", it is not indexed it your batch. There is only one image per batch in City Directories. The reference images belong to other batches.

Still, if we have the batch number, we could see where the batch ended and explain what to do with the unnecessary work before trying to submit

The City Directories come with 300 entries. This does not mean you need to fill all 300 entries. When you are done with your batch, and have less than 300 entries, do the following:

Click on the trash can icon on the toolbar.

    FireShot Capture 022 - Indexing Tool — FamilySearch.org - www.familysearch.org.png

This box will come up. Select All blank entries and click Delete.

    FireShot Capture 023 - Indexing Tool — FamilySearch.org - www.familysearch.org.png

Please not that deleting all the blank entries are for blank entries only. Since you have keyed entries to delete, this will not work. For those extra keyed entries, do the following:

Go to the first extra entry (this will be the first entry in the reference image).
You will need to blank out every field in that entry. To do this, use Ctrl + B or click on the fourth icon from the left on the toolbar.
**Note that when you mark a field blank, it will automatically kick you to the next field.
Go back to the Given Name field in that first extra entry.
Click this icon on the toolbar. It is the sixth from the right on the toolbar.

    FireShot Capture 109 - Indexing Tool — FamilySearch.org - www.familysearch.org.png

This will copy your <BLANK> into every Given Name from that entry onward.
Repeat the process for the remaining fields, in just that first extra entry, though the remaining, keyed, entries.
**Keep in mind that when you blank out the Spouse's Surname, it will kick you to the next entry. To apply the step, go back to that first extra entry and repeat the step.
After you get done with blanking out and applying the remaining entries, apply the first two steps to your batch. You will be left with the keyed entries in your batch and will be able to submit.
