In the residential directories, how are businesses denoted?

Just started on the residential directories. How can I tell if a name is associated with a business address? Do the initials "r" mean residence? Does "b" mean business? How about "wks" etc?

R is residence. B is business and "Wks" is works.
Ex: this is in my current batch. The business and names in the listing are not indexed:This is an example that is indexed because Oral is the commander of Public Safety.
In the first example, we do not index the individuals because they will have their own entry later in the directory. In the second example, if I were to look up Public Safety, I would (likely) see Oral in that listing, but would not index him until his personal listing came up.

Thank you for your help. I still have questions. Does this b mean that this is a business address and therefore should not be indexed?
And here is what looks like a business entry, but it has an r. Do I index this?
Sorry if I'm dense…
Thanks again.

Both are indexed. John's refer to his occupation—which are not indexed—and Peter's refers to his business, which points the person using the index to the company.

@FarrierKathy1, you said it yourself: it's a business address. We're not indexing addresses, so it makes no difference whether John Hencken lives or works at 5610 Dover. (It says he works there.) Likewise, it makes no difference to the index whether 534 Merrimac is Peter Henderson's home or business. (It says it's his home.) What should not be indexed are things like "Henderson" from "Henderson Manufacturing Company" or "W H King" from "King W H Drug Company".
