I'm pleased to join others interested in extending our Nordic roots. I am 3/4 Nordic (Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish). Fairly extensive work has been done on most lines, except my Swedish great-grandfather's line, where the village Lutheran church burned mid-19th century, destroying that resource for going further. I have visited the three countries in 2017 and walked through the villages and family farms of two. I don't speak or read any Nordic languages. Still, I was blessed with parents who diligently worked with researchers at the "The Genealogical Society of Utah" from the 1950s through the turn of the millennium. My cousin and I originally digitized all the work my parents and relatives did on PAF and have been through all the versions of FamilySearch together. My cousin works at the Riverton Family History Library teaching others Danish Research. He continues working on our collateral Danish lines. I help work with cousins in the Martin Heiner Family Organization with our German lines. One of the highlights of my family history journey was attending with 30 American Heiner cousins, our founding German village's 1,150th Festival in Thuringia, Germany last September. Meeting and celebrating with our German Heiner cousins was amazing! And, finally getting copies of the church records that even FamilySearch has been denied, has been an answer to much fasting, prayer, money and hard work by so many for years. As I look back at my life, I see a fulfillment of my patriarchal blessing concerning redeeming my ancestors, and I see the Lord's hand in my life, and those who came before me.
