Not sure. Normally, you would click on your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner of the screen and go to My Messages to view them. Is that not working for you? Can you send a screen shot of what you are seeing?
Or are you asking about messages on FamilySearch and not here in Community? They are two different places!
please be more specific as to what you cant see
and how you know there is something that you are missing.
I was able to get the messages when I went into conversations
so . . . everything is working as designed?
I'm having a problem with messages on FamilySearch (not in the Community). I can send message to people but when they respond, I can't see their answers. The message notifications is flagged but when I click on a response someone has sent me, I get a "oops, something went wrong. Please refresh the page." I refresh, restart and always get the same message.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
just in passing ...
Try this ...
"Clear", the "Cache"; and, the "Cookies", of your "Browser".
That may help.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for your response and great directions. I got rid of the FamilySearch cookies and was going to study how to clear the cache on Linux when I thought of something. The gal who is currently trying to communicate with me somehow managed to send a FamilySearch notification to my husband's cell phone. In trying to look at her message thru FamilySearch on it, I get the exact same message I do on my desktop computer--so I don't think it's the computer but something screwed up with my FamilySearch account.
A couple of thoughts/things ...

Regarding your 'FamilySearch' Account
Question: Is your "E-mail" Address as "Alias" (ie. Part of/within a Higher Level "E-mail" Account.
Mine is; and, I get "E-mails", from 'FamilySearch', to both, the "Alias" Address; and, the "Primary" Address.

I know of; but, have not used the "Linux" based "Operating System".
Whereas, from memory, if I can recall; and, I may be totally wrong; but, I thought that, that "Operating System" had some limitations, when it came to 'FamilySearch'.
Please DO NOT take that as fact, just something that I recall.
It could depend of the "Browser" you are using with the the "Linux" based "Operating System".
I did find this:
16 Best Web Browsers I Discovered for Linux in 2020
I do not know if that helps.

I know of; but, do not use the facility to receive 'Messages' from 'FamilySearch' via "Text Messages".
So, I am sorry, I cannot help there.
ps: Some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch'
Just in case ...
Thanks for all the great info you sent. :) I'm using FireFox as a browser. It finally occurred to me to check something. I got on my husband's computer (also Linux) to see if I could see my notifications that way. I can. Now I know the problem is something with my computer/software and not FamilySearch. I can limp along using his computer to check messages until I have more time to delve into the problem.
Thanks for all your help. It is truly appreciated!
I just hope what I provide might help/assist you, somewhat.
