HowTo attach source to marriage?

When I click on "Sources"; I see four items; two for Sint-Katelijne-Waver, one for Rijmenam and one for Mechelen.
Now click pencil icon beside 1866 marriage and in this pop-up I also see four sources; two for Rijmenam and two for Mechelen.
Why are the two lists not the same?
How is it possible to connect the sources in Sint-Katelijne-Waver to marriage?
How is it possible to connect "extra" sources in marriage popup to the main sources tab?

Profile sources and Relationship sources are /completely separate/. Only the former are reflected on the profile Sources tab. Marriage sources can be attached in both places but can only be tagged on the couple relationship.

To copy the sources in either direction, it's easiest to use your Source Box.

If you look at the bar just below the name of the individual you will see the link to adding additional sources titled "Sources" When you open sources you will see:
If you click on add source you will see three choices
You can then add your sources that you have discovered as a New Source,
or as a memory
or you can create your own source from another web site, or news paper, death certificate, etc….

As Mandy said, the relationship's Sources list is completely segregated and has no relation to the profile's Sources list. While the source-creation function works the same way in the two lists, it will not serve the purpose of putting an existing source on one list onto the other.
But first: I took a look at Sophie van den Eynde's profile, and the four items in the sources list for her relationship with Joannes Ludovicus Claes are actually only two sources: they're exact duplicates, with the same URL and everything. This is most likely the result of a merge, and no, the user who did the merge had no control over this outcome. (In fact, the whole thing happened completely invisibly to the user.) So I suggest as a Step Zero the removal of the two duplicates: click the pencil next to the marriage, scroll down to the Sources section of the resulting popup, click one of the "1866" titles, click Detach, optionally type in a reason (such as "duplicate"), and click Detach. Then click one of the undated titles (the ones where it says "+ADD" instead of a year) and repeat the Detach - reason - Detach steps.
Next, while the "Couple Relationship" popup is still open, take a note of which two sources are already there. Easiest for me would be to copy the URL and paste it into a text editor (I use Notepad++), but writing down the last four or eight characters on a random envelope will also work in a pinch.
Now close the popup (for now) and go to the profile's Sources list/tab. Click each title to see the URL to identify which of the 1866 sources are already on the other list. (I believe it's the second and fourth ones.) On one of the ones that isn't there yet, click the URL to open the index detail page in a new tab. On the black strip across the top of that page, click SAVE and choose Save to Source Box, then click SAVE on the resulting popup. Close the tab, go back to the one with Sophie's Sources, find the other 1866 item that's not yet in the other list, and repeat from the "click the URL" step.
Once the missing sources have all been copied to your Source Box, go back to Sophie's Details page and click the pencil after the marriage again. Scroll down a bit, click "+ADD SOURCE", and choose Attach From Source Box.
This opens your Source Box in the same tab; the copied sources should be right at the top of the list. Click ATTACH after the title and then Attach again on the resulting popup to add each source to the list. When they've all been added, click "< - Previous Page" at the top to go back to Sophie's Details.
Now if you click the pencil on the marriage, the popup will have all four sources, and you can tag the marriage event to them (if you want).

A final step was forgotten … now, go back to your Source Box and delete the source(s) you just added to your source box. (so your source box isn't clogged up with a bunch of junk you had to add to it just in order to be able to tag them to the marriage in a backwards convoluted multi-steps non-intuitive process)
Also: when you've found the source on the person's Sources page, that you want to add as a source to the relationship popup, in order to be able to tag that source to the marriage event . . . . make sure you are clicking the URL and then SAVE to your source box. If you click VIEW, you will only have the option to COPY to your source box, and then the title of the source you attach will read "Copy of Sophia Vanden Eynden, "Belgique, Anvers, registres d’état civil, 1588-1953". If you COPY to your source box, it makes it two extra steps: you would have to then correct the title to not read "Copy of", AND delete the source from your source box.
Another thing that won't work: You cannot Add Source > Add New Source > Web Page URL . . . EVEN IF it's the exact same FAMILYSEARCH URL (FamilySearch URL, not a different website) that you copy from the person's Sources page and you enter everything on that popup to exactly match the person's Sources page, the resulting attachment will show up with the round world icon beside if, not the FS icon, and the indexing & page preview will not load. It doesn't know it's a FamilySearch link.
Also Note: sometimes but not always, when you attach a source to a person using source linker, sometimes in addition to adding it to the person's Sources page it will also add it to the couple relationship as a marriage source. But sometimes it doesn't. So you need to check this every time you add a source that should be in the marriage source list popup. (Yes, another step for the convoluted backwards non-intuitive process for marriage sources)

This is a "do as I say, not as I do", but some of the extra work can be avoided by getting into the habit of checking the "Add to Source Box" checkbox in Source Linker for all sources that are relevant to a couple relationship. (Yes, even if the record is the marriage: Source Linker is too much of a literalist to "know" that, often.) Yes, this'll mean extra cleanup later, but I tend to postpone that and do it all in spurts. (And I often don't actually delete things like marriages, instead stashing them in a "Marriages" folder, in case I turn out to need them later.)
