Should this baptism be recorded as a twin, and so, with the same parents above?

This is an Irish baptismal record from 1865, recorded in Latin. I'm indexing.

Hugo, the son of Dominic O'Rourke and Margt O'Donnell was baptised on the 22nd. His godparents are then listed, Christopher Cunningham and Mary Quinn.

Then, on the same day, Eugene was baptised, and his godparents are listed, but NOT the parents. Are they twins? Why are the parents not named?

Does "Eorundum" translate as "and from the same people" (or some such). Should Eugene be recorded as Eugene O'Rourke, with the same parents as Hugo?

So the answer seems to be: YES, TWINS. Record these as two separate baptisms.

Could you please share the indexing batch number so we can see the full page? Thank you.

I've actually come across two more instances exactly the same, so I've gone ahead and recorded them as twins. I didn't think to keep the indexing batch number, sorry,

Since you've already submitted the batch, the batch number would not help. We can only view your batch while it is still in process. Perhaps something to remember in future when asking for help in the indexing category.

The word is eorundem "the same (ones)". (It's basically the plural of idem "as before, the same, likewise".)

Thanks, Julia. Here's a similar one (Ireland, Leitrim—Church Records, 1740–1913 [Part B] [MQVM-KX4]). This one says "Same Parents". A separate set of godparents, as is appropriate (not the same as marriage witnesses).
