The Enumerator used the wrong columns for color & marital status, do I correct it or index it as is
I'm indexing the Kansas State Census for 1885. On my current page the Enumerator put tick marks in the color column instead of W, B, etc. After reviewing the page it is obvious that he mixed it up with the next column making marital status off by one column. So married is in color, single is in married, widow is in single. I can easily correct this marital statues as I index, but I can't find the policy for this. As it is, singles including young children are in the married column, and the rest are one column off. There is no designation of color, all would become blank. As it is there are tick marks in color [ tick should be in married] has no color meaning. Is policy correct it OR index what you see?

@LindaSull You're right that the enumerator skipped that column, only tabulating race at the bottom of the page. I think because there are strong clues as to the real intention, I would correct it; otherwise, the data will be wrong. Good catch!
