I have a declaration of intention, it all looked normal, and then I I got to the bottom where I was going to index the record date and there is a paper on top saying certificate of arrival, so so do I index that instead? then change the record date?

The COA is not indexed and is an overlay of the Declaration. Since the DEC is indexable, it is not indexed when it is under an overlay.

From the Important Details pop-up and Project Instructions/What to Remember about This Project:

Index only the topmost indexable record, or the overlay, on the image. If the document behind the overlay is also a record that should be indexed in this project, do not index the information on the partially covered document.
