Has anyone noticed a drastic slow down on the FamilySearch website today? I've tried three different browsers, restarted my computer, etc.; checked my internet connections.

It’s slow for me as well, since the new film browser was released.

As in slow like back in the ages of the dial-up internet and sometimes it just gives an “Unable to load image” error…

Also search takes ages to load.

I’ve noticed last month when I could still use the old film browser version that it was much faster then the new one.
I’m just sad that with all these new UI updates the speed was downgraded drastically :(

    Additional info:

The speed really depends on the which backend the load-balancer directs you. For me most of the time the sloooow one.

This seems to be an ongoing issue. I too have ruled out problems on my end so it has to be the load on the server side. Sometimes it just spins so long until I lose interest and wander off somewhere. I have found the mobile app to be more responsive, but that's not going to help much. I'd love to know how long they expect this to go on, but I have no doubt that things will get worse before they get better.

Can you give us more information to help diagnose the problem? What browser are you using? Have you cleared you cache and cookies? What exactly are you looking at that is slow to load? Anything else you think might help us replicate your issue.

@Charles J Christenson Your comment sounds more like the situation described in this thread. You may find some helpful information there.

this change is a muster to me. I can’t find a thing I’m looking for.

@FasyMargaretJosephine1, the only semi-recent change on FamilySearch is the addition of the "quality score" to some profiles, a bit over a week ago now, but that hasn't affected the mechanics of using the site. (It has increased my frustration levels to the point of avoiding FS, but that's a different matter entirely.)

Have you done the usual song-and-dance, starting with making sure your browser is up to date?
