My Ancestors (Barry, Connell, & Gould) left Cork, Ireland for Lisbon, Portugal c 1750. Are there any online records I could search for more info. It is possible that they had already left (for America & London) by the early 1800's? It is of course online records of Lisbon that I am interested in.

    Hi, I hope this helps.

Portugal Parish books are available until 1911, after that date (1910) Portugal became a Republic, and the records became state records, therefore not public. Although there are all sorts of documents being made available.

Lisboa or Lisbon was the Diocese and the Parish are divided/organized by Municipalities

Lisbon is both City (municipality) and District. Therefore the down below link is for all of Lisbon. (Tombo.Pt is one of few sites that organizes for us users what is being made available by Torre do Tombo (National Archive)

    https://tombo.pt/en/d/lisboa

Now, I have recently learned (through a genealogy book) that some registers were kept by Expats Churches, especially if they had private cemeteries.

It will help if you have dates or parish names.

    Good luck
