How do I determine the name of a parent vs spouse in Zimbabwe burial records

Currently indexing church burial records from Zimbabwe, and under the section labeled "name of parents or spouse" there is sometimes only one name, but the deceased is too young to be married. How do I determine if the name listed is that of a parent or spouse?

I would normally add to father's name, unless it sounds like mother, if they are young. And if still unsure I would leave it blank. My understanding is indexing as much record relating to the main person and the event and date is more important and if in doubt and not clearly stated leave it out. Hope this helps and please correct me if this is wrong.
