Do you have an example of this that we can test?0 -
I have noticed this problem too. It used to carry over the Marriage date to the existing record but now it does not. Because of this, we then have to go into the attached marriage record in sources and copy and paste the marriage date and place in order for it to show. My most recent example of this is GR2J-ZCM Alexandre Perrot married to Agathe Peter GR2J-P82. You can see in the Latest Changes that the Relationship and Source were attached but then I had to go into the sources to retrieve the date and place of the marriage titled Event Added. I have attached almost 24,000 sources this year and most of those have been with the new Source Linker. This problem is very recent. It would be great if they could go back to having it attach like it used to. Thanks for your help with this.

I could not replicate this problem. If the exact data already exists against the profiles, the duplicate detail will not be carried across. However, if there is any difference (e.g., just a year for the event instead of the exact date of the marriage) this will still be carried across, in my experience.
In fact, this is where this ability presents a disadvantage. If I carry across details from a source showing just the year this will replace the better existing detail on the Details page (showing day / month / year), so it is not necessarily a good thing to carry such marriage event data across, as the event with the less detail (showing just the year) will always push the precise-dated event off the Details page! It will just remain "hidden" in the Couple Relationship section, unless you go there and delete the year-only event, which will place it back on the Details page.

I just tried attaching a marriage record again and it appears that the issue has been corrected. It is now allowing the marriages to be added to the existing record. I am doing French records and there are many marriages for couples due to Bans being read several weeks before the actual marriage. Each Ban is recorded as a Marriage. That is fine though. It is all part of French history during the 1700's and 1800's. Thanks to those who made this correction.

@LoriNelson17 Thank you for confirming that this is corrected. I will now close this discussion.
