In July 2023, we were advised that FS had contracted with an outside vendor for digitization of microfiche. This morning, while assisting a poster, I found some records that are digitized microfiche.

I can't say that means the project is complete, but there does appear to be progress.

That's interesting @Áine Ní Donnghaile. Was it a catalogue record which showed a DGS number, or was the actual microfiche viewable?

Perhaps not the latter as this help article https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-request-a-microfiche-to-be-digitized says "All of the digitized microfiche content will be released at the same time".

    Thanks Áine Ní Donnghaile

It seems strange to me that FamilySearch does not consider this newsworthy enough to write a Blog, or have information on the FamilySearch Library website https://www.familysearch.org/en/library/microfilm-microfiche-and-CDs
