Does FamilySearch have any intentions of allowing upload of the newer WEBP image format that is becoming more and more popular? (when uploading items to FS Memories)?

@Dennis J Yancey FamilySearch has not made any indication that any other formats will be allowed in the Memories Gallery. That could always change, but for now the only allowed file formats are:

Yes - that is exactly why I am bringing this up.

WebP is a highly popular and broadly supported image format, with

over 95% of internet users' browsers supporting it

I dont understand how FamilySearch cannot support such a common format.

@Dennis J Yancey We can't do anything about it here, but you can request it to be added to FamilySearch's repertoire of file types using the Suggest An Idea section. The Ideas submitted there are sent directly to the product teams. You will likely not see any notification about your idea, but might find it suddenly is an option on FamilySearch, if they decide to include it.
