Hello! Is there an estimate on when these records would be available for consultation on FamilySearch? Before the unification of Italy, the civil registration was done by parishes and they are very reluctant to give you any information when sending them emails.

My ancestor, Giuseppe Piazze Podestà was born in Lavagna, Genova in 1843. His parents were Stefano Piazze and Giulia Podestà. He was a marine and migrated to Arequipa, Peru, around 1860. Records for those years are impossible to find!

@luisvinatea great question! Unfortunately there is no current date available. Here in the community we have a very active Italy Research group. I would recommend reaching out to this group.
