Someone added my father as deceased. How do I remove the incorrect addition?

I added my father to my tree a long time ago but since then someone has added him as a duplicate under my grandparents. The system won't let me remove the deceased record. What do I do.

Don't know if this will work but might be worth a try. What about merging the duplicate profile into the profile you created and then if it still shows deceased, try changing that to living. I normally just add sources to existing profiles but I've merged a number of profiles and created a few deceased although never tried changing the deceased to living status (since I'm only looking for deceased people anyway.)

Both profiles have to be listed as deceased to merge them. To request that the profile added by the contributor be changed to living, follow the steps in this help article: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-change-the-status-from-deceased-to-living-in-family-tree
