I’m close to 80 yrs. old now and for many years I have been trying to find the tree of my maternal grandmother. I know that she was born in 1875, arrived in this country in 1900, was married in 1900 and died in 1945. The name on her marriage license was Mary Stercowiec.

I’ve searched Ancestry, MyHeritage, Ellis Island records of exact name, phonetically sounding names and found nothing. Can anyone steer me in another direction to look?

    Richard:

Was your grandmother Mary Ann Stercowiec born 15 August 1875 in Poland; married 29 October 1900 to Adalbert Bubniak; and died 14 May 1945 in Amsterdam, New York?

If so, there are Public Member Trees on Ancestry for this person. You can find them by going to Ancestry, then Search, Public Member Trees. Put in the information for your grandmother and click "Search". The first entry has the last name spelled differently, but the information is the same.
