1900 US Census Source Link Problem

I've noticed over the past month, that when I try to use the source linker for the 1900 census, the linker automatically creates a separate "unknown" spouse (containing marriage year only), and puts it in the spouse record, leaving the actual spouse in the unattached section with no place to attach. I've been working around it by adding a new spouse, attaching the "unknown" person to the new spouse, changing spouses, attaching the rest of the record to the actual spouse, and then merging "Unknown" with actual spouse. It's really a pain, and I'd rather not have to do that, so maybe there is a way to fix it?? Or can someone suggest a better work-around for it?? Thanks!

    Dear Sandy Howard,

Hello! I've encountered the same problem numerous times; therefore, before I select to attach documents to a specific person I check to see if all parties are listed within the family group before attaching documents. See if that helps. Best wishes to you on your genealogy journey.

The Source Linker is currently being updated. Hopefully this won't be an issue with the new one. I can't say for sure since I have not used it in Beta.
