How to attach 'head of house' mother to census.

A 1930 Census lists an individual as a 'roomer' when in reality she was the mother of the household head. Is there a way to connect this individual to that census?

Yes, there is. In the source linker you can drag the individuals on the left hand side up or down to line them up with the proper individuals. Click and hold on the name in the left hand side then drag.

Sometimes that method can be a bit difficult. Another way to accomplish the same thing is to use the Change link in the blue bar just above the source focus person in left half of the source linker:

Click on it to get a list of every other individual in the source. In the list click on the name of the person you want in the main, focus position.

Sometimes the right side will then line up automatically. But sometime it won't. If it does not, then click on the Change link on the right hand side of the page:

Now you get a list of everyone in the family in Family Tree and can pick the correct person or you can just past in the ID of the person you want in that main, focus position to get the source focus and the Family Tree focus to both be the correct person.

Thanks, that helped. I didn't see the area above the "person of record" that I could expand. It worked and all is good
