Reviewing Deleted person

When trying to review the deleted person from a merge from the deleted person's person screen. It just goes back to the all changes screen. Is this normal or a known problem?

If you want to see the previous details in another form (other than by viewing the change log) you need to (temporarily) RESTORE PERSON. You might find it easier to carry out your review by doing this, rather than checking by way of the change log detail.

Interesting. Looks like a new feature. At least I have not seen it before.

Going to a person's change log and finding a merge:

when I go to the deleted person there is a new link that I have not seen before (which means it could have been there for a long time without me noticing) which says View Merge Details:

Clicking this does just take you back to the surviving person's change log. This makes sense to me because that is where the merge details reside. They are usually hidden under the arrow at the right hand side:

Clicking that arrow opens the Merge Details:

In this particular case, no information was transferred from the deleted person to the surviving person. That is, nothing was added or removed to the surviving person. The deleted person was just deleted.

Here is an example where the Merge Details shows a bit more than that:

This merge line in a change log:

    Opens to this:

(This is actually on a deleted person. I'm having trouble finding a merge I've done that did more than just remove the duplicate person. But then I'm usually merging rather incomplete profiles into mostly complete profiles.)

Note that this new link does say View Merge Details and takes you to the place to do that. It does not say Review Deleted Person. So I do think this is working as intended. It would be more helpful if it took you to the actual line in the change log for the merge you want to review and automatically opened the hidden information. To fully review the deleted person you have go though the deleted person's change log which is right there.

Thank you, but is this what review merges means. I can see how this would be, but is it a work around?

Perhaps you could provide a screenshot showing where you are seeing this "review merge" suggestion. I cannot find the wording against an ID I have recently merged and am unfamiliar with this phrase.

The term - on any merge I've checked - is "view merge details."
