Since these two cannot be merged by me, can someone in support who has the capability merge these two for me?

LXVL-KQB and LXVL-KQB

Thank you so much!

You listed identical person IDs. Did you mean for one of them to be LXFX-XK9?

When a merge fails like this, the reason is almost always that there is some relationship that would be duplicated if the merge were to succeed, and the details seem inexplicable because one of the people involved is living (and thus not visible to the person trying to do the merge). In this case you are trying to merge Karl Eugene Starr LXVL-KQB who is married to Mazel Rasmussen KWC6-JD1, with a duplicate Karl Eugene Starr LXFX-XK9, who is also married to Mazel Rasmussen KWC6-JD1.

My guess is that a living child exists as a child of the first Karl with Mazel, and that same living child exists as a child of the second Karl with Mazel. If the merge were to succeed, then there would be two relationships between the surviving Karl, Mazel, and that living child. That duplicate relationship is not allowed, so the merge attempt fails.

Someone in Support with the proper privileges could fix this. Or the person who can see that living child can fix the problem by removing the parent-child relationship for that living child with one of the Karls and Mazel. Then anyone could do the merge. That merge would succeed, and the result would still retain the parent-child relationship for that child with the surviving Karl and Mazel.

You are right--two identical ID numbers cannot be merged. LXVL-KQB and LXFX-XK9 can be merged, which are appear to be two records of the same person.

yes, thank you that is the correct second ID.

Yes, I was aware of that issue with a living person link. I was hoping by posting here that someone in support would fix this for me. But I do apologize for not giving the second ID number.

    thanks!

@PABulfinch , the problem is that LXVL-KQB and LXFX-XK9 cannot be merged, because of the relationship problems I noted above, Do you have a way to send this to some specialty team that can take care of this?
